Warriors bounce Village Christian 15-5

 

Winning pitcher Jimmie Davis hit his ninth and tenth home runs of the season, and Kyle Hufham also homered Thursday in helping lead the Waccamaw Academy Warriors to a 15-5 baseball victory over visiting Village Christian Academy of Fayetteville.

The game was halted in the fifth inning by the 10-run rule as Coach Winfred Johnson’s Warriors upped their season record to 16-5.

Davis had four hits and drove in six runs while Hufham had three hits and drove in five runs. Waccamaw Academy scored five runs in the first inning and nine in third. J.K. Sealey also had three hits while Dustin Norris had two hits.

Grayson Graham pitched the fifth inning for the Warriors, who will open play on Friday or on May 13 in the NCISAA 1A playoffs.

On Wednesday, the Warriors fell to visiting Wayne Country Day 12-2. Sealey had three hits in the Warrior loss.
