Wreck on U.S. 74-76

Rescue workers and firefighters from several departments extricate victims of a wreck on U.S. 74-76 Monday afternoon after a car crossed the median and ran into an 18-wheeler. Three victims from the car and the driver of the truck were taken to Columbus Regional Healthcare. The female victim was airlifted from Whiteville to New Hanover County. The incident closed eastbound traffic for more than one hour. See story page 4-A of the printed edition.
