Rambling with Ann
By ANN WORTHINGTON
Here we are at the beach again, my friends, making another stab at camping in our camper and wouldn’t you know, it has rained even harder than the last time we tried this. However, I try to find something to occupy the hours.
After long hours of flipping the television back and forth, I grab the trusty old umbrella and look foolish to everyone as I take a strole up and down the streets in the R.V. park, splashing through every mud hole that seems to find my feet before I can dodge them.
I wave to a few other campers here and there, and once in a while another camper has to walk their dog, and I have to laugh at this.
Some of the campers have two and sometimes three big dogs. Dogs sometimes seem to hate each other. I have seen these animals practically devour the other dogs when they pass each other on the street. The dogs’ owners have to keep them on a leash, so it’s quite entertaining to watch.
I passed by a large motor coach one day and was shocked when I looked and saw a large dog sitting in the driver’s seat.
He looked exactly like he was getting ready to drive off. I nearly laughed out loud but was afraid of what others would think, so I walked on.
Getting tired of sitting inside I once again talked my husband into taking me for the 10,000th visit to yet another mall where he gets to keep a chair warm while I look at everything in a few stores and he chats with a few other bored husbands. I had to laugh at one of these husbands on this trip, because he and his wife shared walkie-talkies. He tried in vain to reach her in the mall but never could. When he came near us, I heard her say she never got his call. I knew her secret. She conveniently shut the thing off. How smart!
Well, my friends, I will sign off for now. The church near the campsite has chimes that are playing Amazing Grace and other beautiful old hymns, so I will listen to the music. What a nice way to end the day. Until next time, may all of you have blessed days. As always, God loves you and so do I.
